Im curious if Intel has any plans to release any version of a Sandy Bridge CPU that does not contain technology to remotely shut-down the CPU? Telling me that I must pair a Sandy Bridge CPU with a compatible chipset to enable this technology does not really make me sleep all that much easier. I would really like to see a CPU wihout any traces whatsoever of such a worthless technology in my CPU. I use Windows 7 Ultimate bitlocker to encrypt partitions that contain sensitive information so if a thief steals any computer of mine Im already protected. Being able to shut down the CPU on a computer that I have already encrypted serves absolutely no purpose once the CPU is stolen.
