Since Microsoft* Windows* 8 has not being officially released, it is possible that the Intel® Processor Identification Utility has compatibility issue with this operating system.

Due to this fact, it is possible that the Intel® Processor Identification Utility will be reporting in correct processor information.

I would suggest waiting until the operating system is officially released to see if we need to come up with a newer version of the Intel® Processor Identification Utility.

According to the following website, this processor does support Intel® Virtualization Technology:

In the meantime I did a clean re-installation of Windows 8 - and everything looks okay now. Don't know exactly what was wrong the first time but also Intel Processor Identification Utility now reports virtualization support correctly. Thanks for your support.
