Z690 0x12B and Optane

I recently decided to preform a full system rest with the newest microcode updates to these boards as a fresh start point for several things I wanted to work on. However, I quickly ran into an issue with my Optane H10 drive I had installed. IT would seem that optane support was dropped in this bios update?

I can't find anything confirming it but I've rolled back my system to find it working again. I enabled optane in a previous version it worked fine. I then updated to the newest bios available 4001 for the microcode change. now I'm recieving an Abnormal State in the Raid Controller at the American Megatrends Post screen.

Any advise that isn't removing the optane drive and replacing it?
I've considered rolling back the bios to the most recent version that supports optane but I'd rather not subject this system to the instabillities solved by the new 0x12B microcode.

Currently I have an Asus Prime Z690-A with an i7-13700k.no overclocking is planned on this system.

Update: Rolling back to Bios 3802 with Microcode 0x129 restores the functionality of the optane drive.

Hello Hutch90,

Thank you for reaching out and for providing a detailed explanation of the issue being experienced.

The issue you're currently facing with the Optane H10 drive is likely due to the discontinuation of support for Optane memory on newer processors and platforms starting with 12th and 13th Generation CPUs.

Specifically, Intel RST drivers no longer support older Optane SKU and the Intel Optane Memory H10 officially reached its End of Life (EOL) on September 8, 2022.

This means BIOS updates, are moving forward with support for newer hardware, inadvertently dropping compatibility for the Optane H10.

For more information, please see End-of-Life (EOL) Announcement: Intel® Optane™ Memory Products Not Supported on 12th/13th Generation Intel® Processors and Related Platforms and End-of-Interactive-Support (EOIS) Announcement for Intel® Optane™ Memory H10 and H20 with Solid State Storage

I look forward to your response!

Best Regards,

my appologies on the delay. I have started to engage asus about this as well. can you please confirm that support for a product that is still listed as compatible for the 600 series motherboards and the product pages for various vendors has been dropped specifically for 13th gen (and 14th gen) intel processors but this same bios update used on a 12th gen processor will work as intended?
