Hi

I have just bought an i3-2120 processor and a new motherboard (asus P8P67) and I must admit that I didn't look in the procesor spec to see what memory to buy, I only looked at the motherboard spec and it sayd 1600Mhz was the max, so I bought 8GB1600Mhz.

Now I see in the i3-2120 spec that it says DDR3-1066/1333 does that mean that it wont work with 1600Mhz or should i have saved some money and bought 1333Mhz instead, because it wont run any faster then that. ??

Thanks in advance

The RAM might work, but it has to be running at 1333 MHz.

Also make sure that the RAM is fully tested and supported by the motherboard, usually the motherboard has a table with a list of tested RAM brands/models.

Hi

thanks for Your answer, the ram does work, but as You say it runs 1333MHZ in bios, but in win7 there is 4 different numbers 475, 533, 609 and 685.

I dont know what that means but everything seem to work fine.

Thanks again

Best regards
