I purchased 14700K in December 2024, but installed it in March 2025 after purchasing AMD RX 9070 XT GPU in the same month.
Before installing the CPU and GPU, I updated BIOS version F31 on Gigabyte B660I AORUS PRO motherboard.
I use B660 motherboard, so I did not change any voltage settings for CPU and just left as is with the latest BIOS settings.
Ever since I installed 14700K CPU and the new GPU, I have had random crashes from various games.
- Assassin's Creed Origins had random crashes
- Stellar Blade had random crashes
- Cyberpunk 2077 did not have crashes, but it had black screen with GPU fans fully loaded when exiting or launching the game
I thought it could be a graphics card problem because AMD graphics drivers had some issues with driver timeout or something else, so I sent my GPU to RMA, but its RMA center determined the GPU did not have an issue.
Now, I just ran Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool to check my 14700K for the first time, and it keeps freezing at CPULoad test with AVX2.
Do you think my CPU has instability issue?
(Please ignore the different GPU info in the screenshot because it is a spare GPU and I have not received 9070 XT yet from RMA center.)

Hi Joseph0905,
Thank you for reaching out to the Intel Community Forum. To assist us in investigating the issue, could you please provide the following details:
- Have you tried installing the latest driver, specifically version F32 of the BIOS you are using?
- Have you enabled the Intel Default Setting?
- Was the processor overclocked? Please note that altering the stock clock frequencies and memory speed of the CPU may void the warranty.
- Was the processor purchased less than 30 days ago?
- Have you tried swap testing using an identical or compatible motherboard or processor? Kindly share the exact model used for testing.
- Were there any changes to the system before you encountered this issue?
- What are the troubleshooting steps that you tried so far?
Additionally, to gain a comprehensive understanding of your system, please use the System Support Utility (SSU). This tool will generate a text file compiling all your system information. You can follow the instructions at this link and send the text file here. Help Guide for the Intel® System Support Utility.
Your responses will help us identify the root cause of the problem and determine the best course of action. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you for leaving a reply. Please find my answers in order.
- Yes my motherboard has F32 installed.
- I left it with Default as is. Nothing changed in BIOS.
- My motherboard is B-board. As far as I know, B-board does not allow CPU overclock, hence all settings in BIOS are as is with F32 version.
- I purchased the processor in December 2024.
- I do not have any spare processor or motherboard for now. The current CPU is i7-14700K and motherboard is Gigabyte B660I AORUS PRO DDR4.
- Nothing changed in BIOS.
- Rebooting and load default in BIOS again.
However, I took out the spare GPU NVIDIA GTX 970 and re-run IPDT, then surprisingly I got PASS. This is very weird result, but it is.
Also I generated a text file from SSU and attached.
Thanks and regards,
