I just bought a new i7-2600K procesor. Open the box and installed it into Asus P8Z68-V Pro board. In bios the descrition shows all 4 cores. When I view in Task Manager in windows it show 2 cores as "Parked". CPU-Z shows 2 cores 4 threads. Is there something I need to do to get all four cores to show and work... Also it will not overclock it stays at 3.4Ghz. Do I have a bad processor, it does run on the 2 cores.

The i7-2600k should show 4 cores and 8 threads on BIOS and any other software in the operating system. As the BIOS is showing the 4 cores listed I'll point to be a problem with the operating system installation. If you have a chance try the following ink link to identify your processor;
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Processors&ProductLine=Processor+Utilities&ProductProduct=Intel%c2%ae+Processor+Identification+Utility http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Processors&ProductLine=Processor+Utilities&ProductProduct=Intel%c2%ae+Processor+Identification+Utility
is also a good idea to get the latest drivers and BIOS and inform about the situation to the board manufacturer to further troubleshooting.
