i7 8700

I purchased my i7 8700 in late 2019.  Motherboard beeps tell me that the CPU is dead.

Should it last longer than 5 years?  It is only used for home stuff.

Thank you,

Les

The i7 8700 came out in the last quarter of 2017 so these processors are now approaching 7 years old. It may be worth having your system checked by a repair shop to confirm the exact fault in case other components have failed rather than the CPU.
