Hello Itzik,

Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.

For me to better understand and diagnose the issue further, let me ask you to provide detailed responses to the following questions. This information will help me isolate the problem and determine the most appropriate course of action moving forward.

  1. When did you purchased the processor?
  2. You mentioned that it was replaced 5 times. May I ask if you claimed replacement from your reseller or directly from Intel?
  3. What is the brand and model of your board?
  4. Did you already update the BIOS of your board to the latest?
  5. After BIOS update, did you also load the default BIOS settings?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Best regards,

Hi,

I purchased it from KSP store and claimed it replacement from the Store, I got close box with Intel info on it so I think it was shipped from Intel.

My board is Asus Rog Maximus z790 Formula and the bios version is the last 2001.

Yes I reset the bios settings after applying the last bios.

Thanks,
Itzik

Hello Itzik,

Thank you for the update.

I also checked the latest BIOS for your board, and you are already using the latest BIOS.

In this case, you may contact your reseller again or local Warranty Team to claim another replacement or Refund.

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

The  Core™ Ultra 9 Processor 285K does not have the same issues as the 13/14 gen K/KF/KS processors. You would of course need a new motherboard such as the Z890 to fit it.

Yes, I know my board cost 1000$.

Now I need a new one because when my warranty ends, they will not replace the CPU.

Thanks,

itzik

Hello Itzik,

Thank you for the update.

To answer your question, Core Ultra processors are not affected by the issue.

Hi Michael,

I was able to replace the CPU with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, and also the motherboard to support the new CPU.

I got an 80% refund from the seller, so I am OK with that.

I hope Intel made the new version stable.

Thanks,

itzik
