I got a Alienware M18 R2 with a I9 14900HX and a 4090 and i have been getting BSOD.
i had a replacement laptop but the problem still exist for me sadly. i already had contact with support and told me its likely a driver or software related thing and suggested me to turn off all services that's not Microsoft related and then 1 by 1 turning them on, and i though it was a service from Dell itself because when i disabled i couldn't get the BSOD that fast anymore but now its back again.
I have did some research and found some minidumps and here are some of them:
irql_not_less_or_equal (a) > genuineintel.sys
kmode_exception_not_handled (1e) > ntkrnlmp.exe
ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NOEXECUTE_MEMORY (fc) > nvlddmkm.sys
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a) > ntkrnlmp.exe
I already saw there was a bios update for my system and i installed it sadly without the outcome i wanted as my system still freezes and gets BSOD, specially with playing some games it tends to freeze/BSOD. i already did update my system and did several test and diagnostics to try and see whats the problem but all drivers are up to date and all tests pass with no faulty error.
because its also happened with my first laptop and now with the replaced one also, im more concerned the CPU is cooked, is there a way to check that?
I have dropped the minidump files here also, if someone could help me try and fix this it would be greatly appreciated

Hello Meizter,
Thank you for reaching out and providing detailed information about the persistent BSOD issues you are experiencing with your system. We understand how disruptive and frustrating these problems can be, and we are here to help you identify and resolve the underlying cause.
Please generate an SSU report to help me further analyze important details on your system. To generate the SSU report, please refer to the article: How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*. Please send us the generated SSU.txt file.
To assist you effectively, we need some additional information:
•You have mentioned several diagnostic tests, can you specify which tests you ran?
•Did you make recent changes to your system?
•Have you checked the Windows Event Viewer for any additional error messages or warning that occurs before or after the BSOD events?
We look forward for your reply.
Best Regards,
Robbie R.

First of all thanks for replying to my thread!
and the answers on your questions are:
1. I have a Alienware laptop and run the diagnostics from Dell itself from the Bios and downloaded Aida64 and did a stress test. and both came out fine. side note there, i have already in contact with their support and after multiple replacements parts they gave me a new laptop what i though was not having the problem until recently where i had BSOD mainly playing games and CPU heavy games.
2. within a Alienware laptop you have the ability to have preset for like gaming or have a cool system and i notice when i leave it on standard the system will change it settings like GPU/CPU settings whenever i start a game, and when i have that the system is more unstable then whenever i put it on Balanced or Performance mode. 2 weeks ago Dell released a bios update where the problems with the CPU related to the 13th and 14th CPU was affected and i installed that but that didn't solve my problem and even at times made it worse for me and i could almost instantly make my Laptop BSOD when starting a specific program. and though it might be also for the Mobile variant although Intel stated its only for desktops. ( in my opinion i think the mobile variant also has some problems, i see several posts online where people have problems with the exact CPU i have.
I did install Intel Extreme tuning Utility and since then the BSOD have been less.. i even saw in some posts that someone said to install that and put the Performance Active-Core like 1 lower than default. but so far i cannot say if thats a proper solution i think its more a workaround.
3. Yes thats why i put the BSOD errors in this thread already. and ill put some more info in here as well as i found out when i look up Reliability monitor there are some things i notice which come by multiple times.
Is there a way to check if my CPU is also affected like the desktop variants are? or maybe a fix that will solve this? as i have heard that if the CPU is affected it slowly degrades over time until its not working anymore.
If you need any more info then I'm more happy to give.
Thank you in advanced!

Hello Meizter,
Currently my colleague is away, so for now I will taking over the thread. To address your concern whether your processor is affected with the current situation. The symptoms being reported in the press on 13th/14th Gen mobile systems – including system hangs and crashes – are common symptoms stemming from a broad range of potential software and hardware issues. Intel has not been able to correlate reports of Intel Core 13th/14th Gen HX or other mobile processors to the Vmin Shift Instability issue.
To identify if your processor is at fault on this unit, could you try performing the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool (IPDT) I have attached the link for your guide and instruction. Also, have reinstalling your Windows Operating System just for checking?
You have mentioned that you install the Intel Extreme Utility, can you share to me if what you did to lessen the issue? I am looking forward hearing back from you.
Best regards,
Dhanniel M.

Okay thank you taking care of my question!
I did the test and the test came out as a pass! i will put it as an attachment.
The problem exist for a while and also reinstalled windows,
Yes i installed the Extreme Utility and changed the Performance per core tuning normally they are on x58 x58 and then x52 and turned them down 1 each that was stable but i see when i boot its going to reset to the standard .. i must say i got less blue screens at the moment.
but i don't know i feel that my system is also less powerful then it was before when the BSOD came trough. the only thing i have done is updating the Network drivers and GPU drivers.
Whenever i do Speed optimizer 2.0 my system will be unstable and shuts down completely.
greetings.

I think why i know i have less BSOD. i opened the Extreme tuning application and saw after i got a BSOD last night the settings where lowered, so guess the application recognized there was a problem and turned down the settings of my CPU that might be why my system is more stable but at times slower.

There is also a thread about potential 13th and 14th laptop CPU issues: https://community.intel.com/t5/Processors/Does-the-recent-problem-concerns-laptop-i9-14900HX-or-only/m-p/1629935
Some questions:
- What's your CPU temp while gaming and having BSODs?
- Please, list some games causing your PC to BSOD
- Does it happen also at desktop/office normal usage (including watching YouTube videos etc.) in (Advanced) Optimus mode?
- Does it happen running CPU benchmark stressing tools like Cinebench R23 (from MS Store) and others, without using dGPU?
