Creating a new hardware template

Hi,

I am using a custom board which resembles the Altera 2C35-based Nios II dev board. My board has some extra hardware, for example it has a Dallas real time clock. I would like to use the ecos wallclock driver but when I try to add it to the list of packages used by ecos I get the message "Add and remove hardware packages by selecting a new hardware template". I am currently using the "Nios II Development Board (Altera)" hardware template.

I would like to make a new hardware template by copying the existing one and then modifying it to match my custom board, but I can't figure out how to do that. Can someone help?

I found a detailed answer to this in chapter 13 of Anthony Massa's book. Now I just need to find time to try and follow his example!

It appears that text changes can be made to packages/ecos.db
