Dev Board Documentation Help

Greeting everyone,

I don't know if this would be the right forum to post in. This is the only one I can find linked from Altera's website.

I recently was given a Cubic Cyclonium development board for a project I'm working on. I have installed both Quartus II and the Nios II 6.1 free versions from Altera's website but, I'm at a lost as to how I would go about programming the device.

If anyone can point me in the right direction or who to ask it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for your time,

Robert

The documentation on the Altera site is scarce and there is no design files included with the Quartus and Nios installation as is common for other demonstration boards.

There should be a getting started manual and a CD with the board if you miss them, try contacting the official Altera support, they may have a ftp link for you. You must firs register on the Altera site before being able to request support.

Let me remind you that the Cyclone chip on the Cubic Cyclonium board is a very small one so you will not be able to squeeze in it much more than a processor and SDRAM interface.

Thanks for the help, I'll try emailing them about this, unfortunately the documentation I was given was pretty bad and didn't talk about how to design for the device.

Also the project I'm working on is very small, I just finished my first quarter or digital logic. My final project was implemented on several GAL22V10's if you know what those are.

Thank you again!

Did you get the full documentation with the package? A CD? What is on the CD?

You need at least one of the next two:

1. a board schematic (a .pdf), if you wish to connect to extension connectors (if there are any)

2. a Quartus design example (a .qpf file)

If you find one of these two, we may help.
