Hi there,
I tried half day to get the uclinux installed on my pc. I am using quartus 5.1 and nios5.1. In the new -> project wizard I cannot find the entry Microtronix Nios II. I read serveral post in this forum to get the thing done. None really helped. I tried: - from the command prompt in the eclispe directory nios2-ide.exe -clean - uninstalling microtronics, uninstalling nios, reinstalling The nios ide worked before and I hope it still does. After that I tried to get it running on a different pc, this one has installed quartus 5.0 and quartus 5.1. Same effect. From the plugin details button in eclips I can see two plugins on both mashines: - microtronix nios II kernel plugin - microtronis nios II linux application plugin any one more ideas ? I dont know if all of these are related, but they are good things to check for (based on my personal experience):
- Windows with latest patch - Install Quartus 5.1 first, Nios II IDE 5.1 later. Dont change the default directory if not really needed. apply the service packs to both Quartus and Nios IDE. - Then install Microtronix stuff. If this still fails..man you have a tough problem because it works on mine. --- Quote Start --- originally posted by trapp@Mar 17 2006, 08:16 AM hi there,

I reinstalled serveral times, then I did a complete new download of the zip file ( should be the same ), extracted again, reinstalled and voila it is there. Magic. Thanks Volker

Hi,
Just as a note. I had the same problem and ran the Eclipse "Help -> Software Updates -> Find and Install" command. This updated Eclipse and after running seems to have registered all the plugins again. This results in the : - microtronix nios II kernel plugin - microtronis nios II linux application plugin being available as they are supposed to be... -- Frank
