(Newbie) ucLinux for Nios with Onchip memory

Hi,

I am a beginner to NIOS and also ucLinux.

My requirement is that my application needs to run entirely on the onchip memory - about 128 Kbytes.

Can ucLinux help in making the footprint of the code small compared to uCOSII?

Also, I have a very old linux machine which has RedHat Enterprise AS 4 release (gcc version 3.4.6 20060404 (Red Hat 3.4.6-3)). Can I use this for building ucLinux apps?

Thanks in advance.

-Ramesh.

No AFAIK Linux needs at least 2 MB RAM, a decent system starting with 4MB
