I have a good experience using HDL based systems...Now i want to shift towards software development using NIOS processor....Could you people share with me some useful links & reference materials? Also I would be very grateful if anybody can guide me on this... Thanks alot in advance...

There are a lot of tutorials at altera.com 

The Application notes are also not a bad place to start.
