Hi,

I am trying to install uc linux on NIOS II, I have NIOS II IDE on windows xp os. I have installed colinux os. I am unable to integrate the NIOS II GCC tools to co linux. The ftp site of NIOS2GCC is not opening on colinux. I have downloaded NIOS II GCC tools on windows XP, but can i integrate these files into co linux. Or can I import these colinux files to any project of NIOS II and is there any way to do software develpment using using uclinux.

see http://www.nioswiki.com/operatingsystems/uclinux (http://www.nioswiki.com/operatingsystems/uclinux) and http://www.nioswiki.com/installnios2linux (http://www.nioswiki.com/installnios2linux

Doing NIOS uCLinux development on a Windows PC is not possible. You need a decent Linux box. I don't know if colinux qualifies on that behalf. I did my first steps with Linux in a virtual box in XP and found compile times too slow for decent work, so I got myself a native Linux box (Suse).

Hi Micheal,

thanks for the reply.

but I wanted to try once on windows Xp. i am struck up at downloading the nios2gcc tool chain. i am trying to download gc c tool chain using wget ftp://ftp.altera.com/outgoing/nios2gcc-20080203.tar.bz2 (ftp://ftp.altera.com/outgoing/nios2gcc-20080203.tar.bz2) command but the colinux environment is giving message resolving ftp.altera.com failed. I have set the colinux ethernet drivers ip address to my local internet address and the eth0 port is set to a address near to the colinux ethernet address. But still thye same message is getting displayed.

in this regard i wnated to know if i can access windows environment files in linux environment.
