how to save the data stream

I want to save the data stream(10bit), It is based on NIOS II, Of course,I must use the buffer,my question is:when I builde it,I'd best use the on chip RAM or FIFO(connected by Avlone bus), my project's name is DVR based on harddisk. 

I hope you can give me a suggestion, thanks.
