nios2-gdb-server --thread-vars command line option

Hi, 

 

Has anyone in altera land used the "nios2-gdb-server --thread-vars" command line option?  

 

Presumably this is a mechanism for making the nios2-gdb-server thread aware, but the details of how one sets this up are not obvious.  

 

Presumably one needs to add certain GDB specific named data structures to the OS running on the target?
