nios2_system.h (kernel 2.6.9)

A few questions regarding scripts/nios2_system.h/altera_avalon_xxx.pm:

1. It appears naming requirements have changed. Earlier versions allowed

module names such as "timer0", "uart0", etc. The current version will not

translate these names. This (of course) results in compile-time errors as

the address macros are not redefined with the appropriate typecast ... just

the comment "/* No translation for xxx necessary */".

Is this intentional ... a bug? ... any insight would be great :-)

2. I couldn't find documentation regarding name limitations (other than

the comments in perl modules).

Can someone point to the naming requirements (or just post them)? -- thanks.

3. After updating the target ptf (IDE kernel properties), nios2_system.h

was not updated. After deleting nios2_system.h, it was recreated ... but

apparently with the old values.

What (if anything) triggers a nios2_system.h update (other than deleting it)?

Thanks,
