BSOD Bluescreen REFERENCE_BY_POINTER IntcBTAu.sys in Intel Smart Sound after resume

I had several BSODs only again with Intel Drivers - this BSOD REFERENCE_BY_POINTER IntcBTAu.sys

Uptime only six days, while my apple macbook has now an uptime of more than 30 days.

Both having multiple sleep/hibernation/docking/undocking cycles.

But Intel machines just crashing earlier, and losing again all my work.

Using only recent Windows updates and recent Dell Provided Drivers using Dell Update.

(Not using directly recent Intel drivers which also produce BSOD after  about one week).

See attached files.

  • When does the issue happen? For example when running specific apps, randomly, etc.
It happens when waking up from Sleep.
  • Provide a list of the drivers versions you have issues with.
    - Driver name: Intel Smart Sound Technology for Bluetooth
    - C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\intcbtau.inf_amd64_fd6b2af28036afac\IntcBTAu.sys
    - Driver version and file version: 10.29.0.8467

  • Intel SSU Log: See attached file

  • Something else: I had also BSOD Driver Power state failure with "Intel Smart Sound Technology BUS " after one week and when trying to going to sleep.
This I was able to fix by unchecking "Allow Computer to turn off this device .."
  • I tried also more recent Intel drivers using the Intel Driver Assistant, but then I quickly uninstalled it and used again the more Stable Dell drivers. With NonDell provided drivers I get then BSODs  after three days of multiple docking/undocking/sleeping/hibernation/resuming cycles.
  • Ran already for 48h memtest86, then mprime95 with maximum heat, no crashes or BSODs, and Dell cannot find any hardware issue.
  • It seems that resuming from ModernStandby and Intel are not 100% reliable.

Really frustrating just being ping-ponged and not even looking at or understanding the crashdump!

Can you at least verify / check whether Intel Products are suitable for long uptimes (more than six days)

and multiple suspend and resume cycles?
Dell has already verified after replacements, that there is no hardware fault.

If not, then I would like to close / delete this thread and will just do daily restart with Intel notebooks
and for critical long uptime  stuff I use then my MacBook.

As recommended by Dell I installed their older drivers , and also their recommended drivers.

They told me, to ask Intel, might be Intel can understand the stacktrace of the dump.

I really hoped, that at last resort Intel can check my crashdump - there must be a driver bug because there is no hardware fault!
