Can’t reach turbo boost on i5-3470

My Intel core i5-3470 won’t reach turbo boost 3,6Ghz. Base clock speed is 3,20Ghz. I have a problem with gaming since my cpu is bottlenecking my gpu. So I would really like to get that speed I want. Turbo boost is enabled in bios. I’ve even tried downloading some apps to reach turbo boost. But I only get it to 3,39ghz? Can you help me?

I am not sure that you understand how this feature works. The achievable TB ratio varies (and drops) based upon the number of cores that are active. Other factors - temperature, power, etc. - can limit the amount of time that TB will remain active.

I understand that, but my cpu is not running too hot. And it’s at 100% when playing games. It’s sitting at 3,39ghz the whole time I’m playing. All cores are active, is this why it won’t go higher? Will it reach 3,6ghz if I only run at for example 2 cores?
