Hi,
I have a dual-processor xeon board (Asus DSEB-D16/SAS) with a single processor (Xeon E5410 SLBBC). Is it possible to add a Xeon E5410 SLANW to the other motherboard socket? (Assume that the BIOS is updated to contain the proper microcode for both steppings.)
Thanks. I've listed both processor specs below:

Mixing processors of different steppings but the same model (as per CPUID instruction) is supported. You may want to put the CPU with lower stepping (SLANW) in the 1st socket.

OK, the domain download.intel.com is back, i get the pdf of s5000vsa but have not info about mixing steppings, but yes in the pdf of the s5000pal mobo that you give me, so its posible to mix cpu of diferent steppings but i have to assume that the info of the s5000pal pdf is valid for the s5000vas mobo?
thks and sorry about my english.

Agree with you, i would stick to the notes from the pdf for S5000PAL, and use it as a reference.
All the best,
Kind Regards,
Aryan.
