I7 7700K compatibility

Jump to solution

Hi

I were on "Top achat" in the computer maker. It seems that the Intel Core I7 7700K is not compatible with the ASUS MAXIMUS VIII RANGER motherboard, even if the socket is the 1151 .__.

Do you have an explication ? Is this I7 compatible ?

Is it good for a game computer ?

Thanks

Salut

J'étais sur top achat pour me faire ma nouvelle config, avec un I7 7700K sur une carte mère ASUS MAXIMUS VIII RANGER, mais il semblerait qu'ils ne soient pas compatibles ?

Sont-ils compatibles ?

C'est bien pour le jeu ?

Merci d'avance

I would also caution you, if the newer processor is supported, to make certain that you do any required BIOS upgrades to the motherboard BEFORE you install the newer processor.

Hello Feurt,

Thank you for contacting the Intel community.

That is the correct; you can find the processors supported for this motherboard at the link Al Hill provided. I looked that ASUS website and the Intel® Core™ i7-7700K Processor is compatible with your ASUS MAXIMUS VIII RANGER motherboard.

Is it good for a game computer?

Yes, it is good for gaming, https://gameplay.intel.com/HardwareGames/97129/Intel%C2%AE%20Core%E2%84%A2%20i7-7700K%20Processor%20... check out the games optimized for your graphics. I suggest having the BIOS and drivers up to date for better performance.

Best regards,

Just like the ASUS site, Gigabyte provides similar processor information:
