Intel Core Ultra 9 285k - Cripplingly slow in Windows

Hi Guys,

I’m hoping you can help.

I recently changed to the Core Ultra 9 285k with Z890 ROG Strix motherboard, everything fine, I have an RTX 4090, with the main display running through the GPU

I ran a 4K monitor through the integrated GPU and downloaded the latest Intel Arc driver.

Windows then began running so slow, CPU utilisation is 100%

I ran DDU and uninstalled the Arc driver and disabled the Processor GPU in Bios.

CPU usage is still at 100%, I am literally at my wits end, I am a content creator and have lost a days productivity as a result of this, its Windows 11 23H2 all updates up to date, power plan Maximum Performance, have tried everything I can think of

Ok, managed to resolve it but just to help anyone with similar issues, I uninstalled all Intel Graphics Card drivers, and then managed to get Windows Update to start, it performed a reinstall of the graphics driver and also a very large Windows 23H2 update, now working perfectly.

This reinforces my views that Windows scheduling issues are largely the reason for performance defects with the 285k presently.
