Problem with Intel i7 4790 and ASUS H87M-E

Hello from Argentina, I bought an Intel i7 4790 3.6ghz with a motherboard ASUS H87M-E, never worked.

I'm told the motherboard which required an update of the BIOS for this new processor (2014).

Intel i5 4440 works seamlessly with the motherboard, but not the i7.

It may have been missed? I do not think static blow received, he was treated properly.

Problem with new processor motherboard? I will need to install a Z97 chipset?

Warranty?
