RTS2011LC Liquid-Cooling Kit fan switch function?

Is the switch on the fan in the Intel RTS2011LC Liquid-Cooling Kit for switching the LED ON or OFF, or for selecting a fan speed range?

The installation instructions for both the RTS2011LC and the TS13X liquid coolers say it's an on/off switch for the LED, but I've found information online that says it's a fan speed range selector switch. Quote from one vendor says "Selectable fan speed setting provides Quiet and Performance modes". The one I just received has a switch clearly marked "Q" & "P".

Which is it? Did Intel send out the same product with different fan switch functions? If I can't switch off that stupid LED, I may just send it back before I even install it!

The switch in both the RTS2011LC and the TS13X liquid coolers is for switching the LED ON or OFF in the device. You can confirm this information from a valid Intel® link:
