The E8400 is one of the few Desktop processors that qualifies for embedded options, which you can read about in Intel's web site if you're interested. It generally means it is useable in a non-household environment such as running software that is controlling machinery. So it seems it is more robust than the usual desktop CPU and may be actually closer to the Xenon then we know.
