Title says it all, I have checked everything else to conclude that CPU doesn't BSOD upon loading windows with only one core working. I have tried different CPU and it worked like a charm, so it's neither else of my components. My CPU is delidded, so it doesn't have any warranty anymore, but delidding didn't cause this ( I delidded more than a year ago and ). I didn't use any crazy volts for my OC ( 1.45v ). My components:

Asus Maximus VI Gene
- RAM

Hello arniks8:
Thank you for contacting the Intel Communities.
Have you checked the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool to test your processor?
Also, you could remove any OC done in the CPU to test the behavior of the system.

@EstebanC_Intel , Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool passed the test, but I was using only one core since PC gets BSOD on boot with more than one core. I have tried reseting BIOS settings to default.

Hello arniks8:
Have you tried using your CPU in a different Motherboard?
Also, using another power supply would be a good troubleshooting step.
I understand that you changed your CPU and the system worked fine, but if possible, please perform the steps above.
Also, make sure you have the BIOS version 0606 or higher, this is the "Validated since BIOS" as per Asus website.

I can't test with a different motherboard since everybody that I know doesn't have an LGA 1150 motherboard, our local computer shop doesn't have LGA 1150 motherboards either. I already tested with another power supply. My bios version is 1603, but I've tried using different versions too. If my CPU wasn't defective, then the other CPU I tested wouldn't opereate as it should, but it did operate normal.

Hello arniks8
Please try running BIOS defaults and make sure your RAM specification complies with the following specification DDR3-1333/1600 Mhz/DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.5V and that it also complies with your motherboard manufacturer specifications for motherboard at https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VI_GENE/HelpDesk_CPU/ https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VI_GENE/HelpDesk_CPU/ *
You could get more information about the recommended RAM modules at http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1150/MAXIMUS-VI-GENE/M6G_DRAM_QVL_0717.pdf http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1150/MAXIMUS-VI-GENE/M6G_DRAM_QVL_0717.pdf *

I have already tried using defaults, my RAM meets motherboard specifications.
My system is a bit more than two years old, and only thing that I changed was GPU, I bought it a year ago. I doubt that my existing hardware causes conflicts with CPU.

Hello arniks8,
Thank you for the information.
Could you please provide specific RAM module specifications?
Please run https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool-64-bit- Download Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool (64-bit) and post results here?
Additionally, we would like to know if you are running defaults at the BIOS and if possible to test another processor on motherboard?
Provide the operating system of your Computer.
You could also try testing minimum configuration in order to isolate the issue.
Regards,
Caesar B_Intel.

My RAM is 1x8Gb Crucial ballistix tactical tracer 1600Mhz CL8@1.5v . I'm running bios defaults except for one core enabled in bios ( otherwise there is BSOD on start up ) , I won't be able to test another CPU on my motherboard since my friend sold his, but before he sold it we used it in my computer and it worked flawlessly, we even overclocked it without problems. My PC has windows 10 Pro 64bit ( I'm using it since September ), but before I had windows 7 ultimate 64bit. I've already troubleshoot that CPU is cause of this, but If only one core is then computer can boot to windows ( I have checked all cables and slots,I also gave my PC to computer specialists and they also said that something is wrong with CPU. When I showed them the thing about one core enabled, then they said that they haven't seen anything like this. ).

Hello:
Thank you for the information provided.
Unfortunately, since the CPU was "delidded" as previously advise by you, indeed the warranty is void. The system worked with a different CPU. So in this case maybe because of the modifications performed and use of the processor out its specs, the CPU failed.

Delidding didn't cause this, my CPU was delidded more than a year ago and I only removed it when I tested the other CPU that was two or three weeks ago.

Hello, arniks8:
Many causes could be the one that started this issue, overclocking the processor would reduce its lifespan, it could be degraded, regarding performance, it could damage different cores (this could be your issue) or even die.
If this CPU was tested in another Motherboard, most likely the CPU was damaged by the OC.
Right now, my recommendation would be to get another CPU for your system, since as per its performance and behavior it is damaged.
If you encounter with any new or additional inquiries, do not hesitate to contact the Intel® Communities again.

I just tried my system with an HDD that had windows on it and it worked with all cores, but didn't with SSD as primary drive. After I tried SSD in my laptop and it was fine. Could this be a motherboard fault?

Hello, arniks8:
This is an interesting scenario. Have you tried re-installing the OS in your SSD?
Also, you could test different SATA ports in your motherboard that could also be a port related issue.
I look forward to you outcome with this.

Esteban C

I have already tried what you mentioned. I don't know what the fault was, but I got fed up and sold the CPU.
