i7-14700 Boxes

Hello,

We purchased 12 ‘i7-14700 Boxes’ for Anadolu Agency.. First of all, I have to state that; Anadolu Agency is the largest news agency of the Republic of Turkey.

The problems and tests we have experienced are below.

We found that the 12 i7-14700 Box processors we purchased for our institution very quickly increased to 100 degrees Celsius and frequency restriction, Intel Extereme Tuning Utility was installed for observation purposes during the tests, and it was observed that Thermal Throtting was active in the smallest process, our processors, which were loaded for about 5 minutes, reached an average of 3. 4Ghz speeds and 130W TDP values. (The Turbo Frequency Promised by the Processor is 5.4Ghz and Max 219W) Upon the release of Intel's update at the end of last month, I made the necessary updates to our devices and performed performance and heat tests on computers with original fans and Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE fans.

Our test video is a 10-minute video output in 4K resolution, and our output is in Full Hd resolution Mp4 format and h264 codec

            Tests with Original Fan:

Render time with current bios 4:06 minutes processor temperature 70 C

Render time with old bios 1:55 minutes processor temperature 100 C

            Tests with tower type fan:

Render time with current bios 1:51 minutes processor temperature 50 C

Render time with old bios 1:22 minutes processor temperature 100 C

Looking at the test results, it is clear that the bios update only restricts performance.

The process offered to us by the distributor company regarding the problem we are experiencing, return and refund your fee is not the solution to our problem.

We request that you provide the upper version (K series) CPU supply related to this problem accepted by Intel company and return the 12 CPUs we have and provide free replacement.

Sincerely regards

Cemal Sonsay

Hello Csonsay,

Thank you for posting on Intel Community Forum.

I understand that you would like this to get sorted as soon as possible. For me to properly address this concern, please share the information below.

1. Was the issue there from the start?

2. What is the average temperature when the system is on idle?

3. Which software did you use to run stress tests?

4. What is the full model of the fan that was used?

5. If possible, please attach the results of the test.

Also, I would like to inform you that our warranty process is like for like. This means that we can only provide a replacement for alike units.

Additionally, to have a better understanding of your system configuration and components please generate System Support Utility (SSU) report. Please follow instructions here and send the report - How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*

I look forward to your response.

Best regards,
