Hi,

I'm working on a project in which I use integrated graphics to transcoding video via quicksync function. I put it in 1U rack case. My problem is too high temperature, using 80% busy render there is 80-90C on cores. The question is what is the maximum temperature for broadwell processors at which the cores is able to work without delays? Maybe you have an ideas for cooling? What is the case with termpaste on these processors, Haswell had problems as i can remember.

Usually this information is posted on the ark.intel.com website but since the processor OEM/tray, the thermal temperatures will vary from the design of the computer. The best course of action is referring to page 68 of the following document which will have a formula to determine the temperature.

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/core/desktop-5th-gen-core-family-datasheet-vol-1.html Desktop 5th Gen Intel® Core™ Processor Family Datasheet, Vol. 1

Thanks, document proved to be helpful in understanding the problem. It is difficult to ensure suitable cooling in this configuration (ATX motherboard, 1U)
