Hello

This is an update of the micro code is provided for LGA2011-3 (Haswell-E)?

Indeed, there is a bug with the "Adaptive Mode" for the "CPU Cache Voltage" and only an update of the micro code will correct this problem.

Thanks

Thanks for joining the Processor community.

I would like to know the exact processor model that way I can check with engineering about this matter.

Click the Windows icon, and then right-click Computer .

Select Properties .

Find System Type on the Properties window, and then note the processor model.

Hello

I have a Haswell-E 5930K and an Asus Rampage V Extreme.

The "bug" is present with all Haswell-E processor (5820K and 5960X too)

According to Asus, it would update the "micro code" Intel (UEFI bios)

Thanks for your help

Thanks for the information.

Please bear in mind that in order to update processor microcode, you need BIOS update. The BIOS should contain microcode for your processor model.

Yes Asus should update the microcode on a new bios, then install the new bios on our motherboard.

Or as I did with the previous platform, I update myself the microcode and I reinstall the bios.

Intel just need to do the update of the microcode and provide it to Asus, etc....

So my question, is what Intel planned to update the microcode to fix the bug?

Thanks

You may need to talk to Asus about this matter, since your motherboard maker develops the BIOS.

But Asus can not update the microcode in their bios if Intel does not provide them, right?

Or Asus already has the new microcode version (which fixes the bug)?

Thanks for your help

You need to contact Asus in order to obtain BIOS file that contains an updated processor microcode.

Hello Allan

Have you done tests with this new firmware? It works for you with a "Cache" higher 4ghz?

With the latest firmware and an Asus Rampage Extreme V (5930K) it does not work

Thanks

No, I have not tested the latest firmware. I would expect other peers with same issue could help you posting feedback about this firmware with Asus boards.

See https://vip.asus.com/forum/ ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Forum- for more information.

Doesn't work with Asus Rampage V Extreme (5930K) and the last microcode (Cache at 4.5ghz)
