10M50DD long Flashing time

Hello,

When I flash a .POF on a 10M50DDF484C8G the flashing time is around 15 minutes whereas 1 minute with a 10M40DAF484C8G (same code, same board).

How can I reduce this flashing time?

I use Quartus 22.1std.0 Lite and his programmer.

Best regards.

Hi,

I checked that the 10M50 and 10M40 use the same flash inner. It shouldn't have such different time. Please make sure all the flash in MAX 10 have already been cleared and have the same setting of 10M50 and 10M40(real time isp or not).

Best Regards,

Mengzhe

Hi, thanks for your answer.

I don't use real time ISP. The main difference is the the 10M50 is DD version whereas 10M40 is DA.

I found this note about the DD:

"Note: The flash region access control and immutability feature is only available in Intel® MAX® 10 devices with DD feature options (10M40DD and 10M50DD)."

Hi,

Sorry for late reply.

It seems the noted feature you mentioned in the end won't influence config time.

Could you help trying other projects, such as some official example design. And use standalone programmer instead for programming process.

Hi,

I just try with a simple project : 1 input drive 1 output.

Here are the flashing time with the .pof generated:

10M40DA : 42s

10M50DD : 14min29s

Same board design, same Quartus project

Any ideas ?
