I am using a Cyclone IVE FPGA currently and would like to know recommended ways for it to do floating point arithmetic?
I was originally thinking of implementing a Nios II core, but because the Nios II is obsolete and its IP can't be purchased anymore, are there any other ways to do floating point arithmetic with a Cyclone IVE FPGA?
I understand I could implement a Nios V/g core, but the Cyclone IVE does not support a Nios V core.

according to Nios V reference manual, V/g can be implemented with Cyclone IV E.
See table 69, performance benchmark.
Technically, there's no reason why Cyclone IV shouldn't be supported because logic core of Cyclone IV, 10 LP and MAX10 is the same.

I do have one last question - per the performance benchmark table, do I need to use the Quartus Prime Standard or Pro edition to build and compile my project or can I use the Quartus Prime Lite edition?

NiosV is supported for the CycloneIVE that you are using.
You could refer to the table below:

For the NiosV benchmark there is a summary on the difference located here:
Basically regardless of which Quartus you are using Standard or Pro. The NiosV c m g core are available.
