Arria V GT FPGA RF Development Kit

I am fortunate to be an undergraduate EE student working on a project using the Arria V GT FPGA RF Development Kit - https://www.altera.com/products/boards_and_kits/dev-kits/altera/kit-arria-v-rf.html.

I am constrained to use Quartus II v15.0 for the VHDL development. Unfortunately, it looks like the BTS (Board Test System) utility for this kit will only work with Quartus II v12.1.

Does anyone know how/if I can obtain a BTS for this kit that will operate with Quartus II v15.0?

Only if Altera/Arrow release a BTS that's supported by Quatus V15 - which I can't find.

You can install Quartus V12.1 alongside V15.0 to support the BTS available. You can still develop with V15. You might need to play around a little to ensure the BTS software looks to the right version of Quartus for drivers when it runs.

Why? What does V15 do for you that V12.1 doesn't?

Cheers,

Alex, thanks for your response.

I had come to similar conclusions - thanks for your verification.

Why I am constrained to v15.0 - the EE department will be using this project to control some RF EMI/EMC testing and specified that the test stations will be running version 15.0, and they explicitly said they don't want to have to support multiple versions of Quartus.

The BTS would have be a "nice to have", but in the end application, it will not be necessary.

Thanks for taking a look into this!
