Broken HSMC Port?

I am on the CIII DSP Development kit (EP3C120) trying to get a camera card to work on 1 hsmc port, and a dvi-output on the 2nd hsmc port. However, only the board connected to the hsmc-b port functions correctly!

For example, if I connect the camera to hsmc-a and the dvi to hsmc-b, the dvi output will work fine but the camera can't be communicated with.

If I then switch the 2 boards, I find that the camera works fine on hsmc-b and now the dvi-out is broken!

It seems that the hsmc-a port must be shorted out somewhere. Does anyone else have any ideas as to why this port is not functioning or have I got myself a bad board?

Figured it out. I wasn't supplying hsmc-a with the appropriate clock! I guess this just further confirms that often the best solution is the most simplest.
