EP3C16F256 Configuration

Hello,

I have my configuration running on a DE0 board but I planned on using the EP3C16F256 in the actual application.

I am confused on how to configure the EP3C16F256, does it not support AS configuring with an EPCSx device?

Chapter 9 of the handbook seems to indicate so.

Thanks

this is what I found confusing, from chapter 9:

Smaller Cyclone III devices or package options (E144, M164, Q240, F256, and U256

packages) do not have the MSEL[3] pin. The AS Fast POR configuration scheme at 3.0-

or 2.5-V configuration voltage standard and the AP configuration scheme are not

supported in Cyclone III devices without the MSEL[3] pin. To configure these devices

with other supported configuration schemes, select the MSEL[2..0] pins according to

the MSEL settings in Table 9–7.

Perhaps this means that the AS fast POR at 3-2.5V is not supported but it is at 3.3V???

So there is no MSEL[3] pin but all the configurations show it used....

Thanks

right, without MSEL[3] you can do AS with standard POR at 3.3V or 2.5/3.0V or AS with fast POR only at 2.5/3.0V (but not at 3.3V). that's shown in Table 9-7

OK, I guess I have have all options where MSEL[3] is low (0)?

Thanks
