EPC1 programming

I have several boards using Flex6000 with a EPC1LC20 as configuring device. I need to copy one EPC1 for maintenance purpose only. A power supply failure damaged the chip.

I managed to get the content of one EPC1 on a god board using a universal device programming and saved it in Binary format. However, when try to program a NEW EPC1 chip I got verification error. The new chip gets a completely different data. Looks like an error during the writing. Tryed with 3 different UDP brands with no sucess. UDP manufacturers claim they can read and write to EPC1 chips, however, my experience is not god.

My question is: since all boards I have are capable of in circuit programming can I use the Altera on board cable and adapter to read and write the EPC1? Or there is any UDP which can certainly do the task?

I am an Electronic Engineer with zero knowledge on this type of devices, old school, and expert on High Voltage modulators.

Any help would very welcome.
