Error in JTAG programming MAX10 FPGA

Hi, I am a VHDL designer. Together with our HW team, we developed a new custom board in which we have integrated a MAX10 FPGA 10M16DAF256I7G.

When I try to download the pof file by using the USB blaster programmer rev C and JTAG programming mode, i get this error

Error (209053): Unexpected error in JTAG server -- error code 35

Error (209012): Operation failed

I cannot programm the FPGA MAX10 and I can't solve the problem. Could you help me please?

We need to start the debug of the entire board but I think we could have some HW problems since I cannot access the device in the JTAG mode.

When I write the following command using the windows prompt in order to try to change the clock of the TCK pin i get this message

C:\intelFPGA_lite\17.0\quartus\bin64>jtagconfig --setparam 0 JtagClock 6M

Error when scanning hardware - No devices

or when I write this command

C:\intelFPGA_lite\17.0\quartus\bin64>jtagconfig

1) USB-Blaster [USB-0]

Unable to read device chain - JTAG chain broken

I can't fix this.

Any help is truly appreciated.

Regards,

MDM

Hi MDM,

It seems like the HW connection in JTAG part is broken in your board as JTAG is not able to be detected. Perhaps you can use our max 10 pin connection guidelines to determine the appropriate connection for your JTAG pin.

Thank You
