Hello Joe, Its your choice. There are plenty of simulators available with system verilog support. Forex. Modelsim, Active HDL are very well known. You may have to pay for the licence.

Modelsim DE is the only one that I know of that supports SVA.

Hello, yesterday I did a WebEx session on Aldec's Active HDL and was surprised that there were tools out their can do development regardless of the FPGA vendor. Any comments on using Active HDL as the sole development tool? Also, any comments on Mentor's HDL Designer?

Thanks,

Hello Joe, Active HDL is a great tool. Personally I like it much due to the reason that its not vendor specific. Its feel and look is great. The license fee might be little higher compared to any other tools. For example for vhdl only simulator you may have to pay around 500 dollers/year(for full Lattice suite inluding ispLEVER and other tools). For mixed language simulator license price you will be surprised . Please have a check at the license distributor or at on-line store. Active HDL also supports SVA. Please have a look at : http://www.aldec.com/technologies/technology.aspx?technologyid=a704fabc-e35f-4494-bd97-acde8f0ea838
