How to deal with it

I used the quartus 9.0 to open a project which was created by quartus 5.0. But I encounter some problem as below:

you'll need to re-generate the .stp file before compilation

Quartus II 5.0 is too old. 

It maybe useful to delete or regenerate the STP file. 

Note the IP core! The old IP core may work wrong in Quartus 9.0 .
