I am a beginner

I am weak in English

I am happy when you can answer a question

I purchased Stratix V GS, but cannot move a device

I use Quartus II 13.0 sp1, but, in the case of device choice, cannot choose "5SGSMD5K2F40C2N".

I chose "5SGSMD5K2F40C2" instead, but an error called "Program the device to continue" was given when I used signalTAP

The N at the end of the part number just stands for ROHS, and doesn't change timing of the device.

So selecting the 5SGSMD5K2F40C2 device is correct.

You must compile signaltap into your bitfile and program the device via JTAG first. So if that hasn't been done. It will recognize that signatap isn't available in the device and give you the error you mentioned.
