Installing Modelsim service packs

I am installing Quartus II 11.1sp2 and Modelsim. The modelsim software pack comes with

two additional service packs they are:

11.1sp1_216_modelsim_ae_linux.sh

11.1sp2_259_modelsim_ae_linux.sh

Now I am unsure where to install them. Do they go into the same directory awhere altera is installed

or do they go into a different directory? Say their own directory just off the Desktop directory. In this

latter case it is just like the way that I have altera installed.

.../Desktop/altera/

Any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Modelsim is it's own program, you can put it wheerever you want.

Okay, I am talking about the two service packs. The were released after the version of Modelsim came out. What about installing them?

I have listed those two packs above.

Mentor usually release new versions rather than service packs. Altera has a habit of just including whole versions of modelsim in service packs (which are uusually just the same versions are the one in the base pack).
