Hi,

I am trying to configure EPCQ64A through Altera Cyclone V(GTFD7D5F).It shows successfully programed the device when I program through JTAG USB Blaster II or USB Blaster, but If I reboot the unit,Config done is OFF (Not successfully configured)

Other issue is, after successful programming, if I try to verify through Quartus, it fails.

Info (209021): Performing CRC verification on device(s)
Error (209027): Verification failed for device number 1

I have tried different Quartus programmer versions (17.1,18.0 18,1,20,1) ,but no success.(.jic file generated using Quartus 18.0)

I have attached the log here. Please help to understand, what could be the issue.

Is it approved development board or custom design? In the latter case you should consider signal quality problems related to design.

To troubleshoot the apparent programming error, you might read out flash data with programmer and check the differences.

Hi FvM,

It's a Custom design based on Cyclone V & EPCQ64/EPCQ64 Serial interface flash. This is not a new design and being in production from 5/6 years. I am still checking, but so far, no apparent Signal quality issues are observed.

I ran the examine function after programming and it's susscesful.

Info (209011): Successfully performed operation(s)
Info (209061): Ended Programmer operation at Tue Mar 12 16:06:48 2024

Hi,

You said that this has been in production for 5/6 years

- So does this mean that it is suddenly failed?

-Did you make any recent hardware/software changes?

-When did the issue start?

-What is the Quartus version you are using?

-Please try to run the JTAG chain debugger and provide us the screenshot.

-Also try to disable "Unprotect EPCS/EPCQ devices for the erase/program operation" option for Quartus Programmer. Then program again. Does it work?

Aiman
