MAX 10 Instant-On

Hello,
I understand the instant-on timing specs to be relaxed per this adjacent post -  https://community.intel.com/t5/Programmable-Devices/MAX10-Instant-On/m-p/202216

However, for the sake of deeper understanding, can you please point Me to document #683794 version 2017.12.15 or advise further? I'd like to better understand what was once considered.

Thank you,

Hi,

I think you may refer to this Errata.

1. Intel® MAX® 10 Device Errata

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/programmable/683614/current/device-errata.html

As you can see from the Errata, for MAX 10 devices with date-code older than 1625, there was an configuration issue if "instant-on" is not enabled.

Starting with 2016'WW25 shipments, MAX10 devices have a modified power on configuration scheme that enables a simplified power on scheme with extended operating requirements, enabling both faster and slower voltage ramp rates to be supported without the need for power sequencing.

When you are using the devices newer than 1625 and Quartus version later than 16.0, you don't need to consider the "instant-on" as it was only applied to the old devices and old Quartus versions. You just need to refer to the latest datasheet to understand the power on requirements.

Best Regards,

Xiaoyan
