PCIe Communication not working

Hi all,

We used a cyclone IV FPGA in one of our design. Due to some assembly error ,a wrong FPGA was mounted on to the board. Later we identified the issue and removed the FPGA and mounted the correct one. After the mounting of the new FPGA PCI comunication is not working later we removed that FPGA reballed it and mounted it again. Even after such attempts we couldn't establish any communication between PC and FPGA board.

If anyone of you have already encountered this problem. Please help us.

Is this a plug-in card?

Hi,

Some general thoughts and questions:

1. Is this was tested before and approved to be working setup or new untested prototype?

2. Have you checked that FPGA board is not damaged due to wrong FPGA and board rework? (There are no short circuits, no damaged power supply IC ect.?).

3. Does FPGA boots to user mode, can it be reprogrammed?

4. Have you checked that PC motherboard is not damaged by installing other working PCIe board?

Yes all the boards are working and tested prototypes. This assembly error happened on 4 boards ,out of them 2 are working and 2 are not working.

2. Have you checked that FPGA board is not damaged due to wrong FPGA and board rework? (There are no short circuits, no damaged power supply IC ect.?).

Yes , we have checked for any short circuit and also power supplies on-board are working fine.

3. Does FPGA boots to user mode, can it be reprogrammed?

We could program it.

4. Have you checked that PC motherboard is not damaged by installing other working PCIe board?

Was it working before the rework?

we did not check it before rework. As wrong FPGA was mounted on to the board we didn't check it by connecting to the motherboard. It was only tested after mounting the proper FPGA.
