ROHS or Not

Hello, 

 

I got in to a really ugly situation and I had to order Altera EPM7256SRI208-10 from the open market source. Got the parts - they look new, no sign of damage, but I’ve noticed 1 thing and I’m looking for an answer to the question: Is it possible, that the ordering code on the microchip has no suffix “N” at the end, which indicates, that this is “leaded version”, but at the same time it is marked with the eV category “E3” at the bottom right corner, which means, that it is ROHS-compliant? 

 

 

I've tested 5 of them, and they are 100% functional.

there are a few parts listed in the Lead Free column of the Lead Free Parts .xls without an N suffix, but yours isn't one of them:

but, e3 should be RoHS compliant. interesting...
