Reusing Dual Purpose Pins in CycloneIII

Hi Everybody !..

I have a question.

I am using Cyclone III EP3C25E144C8N on my own design board.

And i use EPCS16 for configuring Cyclone III in Active Serial Mode.

There is a 2x5 header jack for programming EPCS16 as described in the datasheets.

My question is, I want to use the dual purpose pins of CIII (DCLK,DATA1,FlashNCE pins) which are also connected to this header jack for communicating with another board. GND exists on the jack pins, and i need 2 more pins (RX,TX) for communication. Can i use these dual purpose pins without damaging the data stored in EPCS16??

i think, if i dont touch FLASH_nCE pin (chip select for EPCS), then EPCS will ignore any signalling on the other pins. so, i won't damage any data in the EPCS.

am i rigth?

can i use these pins freely?

Thanks A Lot !..

Yes, according to the EPCS/serial SPI flash specification.
