I want to know any body implemented sata2 /sata3 in transceiver signal integrity development kit, stratix ii gx edition (http://www.altera.com/products/devkits/altera/kit-signal_integrity_s2gx.html) using paddle connectors (SMA to SATA/SAS converter)?. will the transceiver support for sata2 and sata 3 implementation?

As far as I know, Stratix II GX transceivers are missing some functions required for SATA/SAS, particularly the out-of-band signalling feature. Newer chips, e.g. Arria II are supporting SATA explicitely.

Arria II and Stratix IV are certainly supporting SATA.

Stratix II GX Transceivers support PCI Express (PIPE) which has out-of-band signaling. Would it be possible to utilize it for sata?
