Show gray image on vga

hi  

ı have de2 115 board and d5m camera ı want to show gray image on vga screen. Vga has 3 signal pins red green and blue but gray only one value ? 

How ı can show gray image ?

I don't know your [particular hardware but, speaking as a digital photographer, my understanding is that setting RGB to the same value will produce a neutral colour (assuming calibrated display hardware), somewhere between black and white inclusive.  

 

Whether the colour is grey or not depends on the overall intensity. By convention, setting R=G=B=<minimum value> should typically result in black, R=G=B=<maximum value> should typically result in white.
