Hello everyone:
I am using a D flip-flop chip of ON semiconductor, attached is the datasheet. All of this chip's IO are ECL type. I have to control some pins (such as reset pin) from FPGA, so there is a issue of how to drive LVPECL using LVTTL signal? A simple LVTTL to LVPECL interface without interface IC ? Any info ? If I want a single ended output from a LVPECL,can I leave the other differential output open (unconnected) ? Thanks JerryLink Copied

Level conversion from 3.3V or 2.5V FPGA IOs to LVPECL can be done with resistive voltage dividers. For LVPECL to FPGA interface, use resistors and LVDS inputs.

OnSemi conductor (Motorola ECL) has some good app notes. This one shows LVDS interfacing to LVPECL
