Hi Forum
I would like to inquire about the article I read about interfacing stratixv fpga with intel qpi protocol interface (xeon processor) QPI (Quick Path Interconnect) http://newsroom.altera.com/press-releases/nr-qpi-home-agent-fpga-altera.htm I am interested in purchasing the Stratix V FPGA which connects together with an Intel Xeon processor. (A bundle set if possible) I would like to have more information about this especially on the both system interconnect. How does the Intel Xeon processor connects to the Stratix V device. Does it have a external physical interface ? Thank you :) Regards Jeevan Sirkunan Researcher Fac. of Electrical Eng Universiti Teknologi Malaysia,UTM Skudai, 81310 Johor,Malaysia.- Tags:

Hello jeevan2,
From a quick glance on the article, it looks like by using the transcievers it's able to meet the Xeon processors requirements. I'm assuming this is a custom board with fpga and Xeon very close to each other. The protocol is an ip so it doesn't look to bad to use if they have a kit. It first would use the transceiver ip core to stabilize th connection and use the qpi ip core for comm. -Trukng -Trukng
